DIY Montessori Animal Mobile Set for babies

This DIY Animal set contains all the three animal mobiles, the Whales, the Swallows and the Butterflies. These are introduced around 3 months+ (follow your child’s own progress). By this time most of the visual skills have developed but they still need refinement. This is the ‘job’ for the animal mobiles. They work on nuances such as depth- and size perception, colour discrimination and further assist in visual tracking. These materials are so lovely that they even double as nursery decoration. They don’t come in a sequence, you can alternate them by changing them every week, or when your child’s interest changes. However, I suggest starting with the Whales, then the Swallows, then the Butterflies. You can use these mobiles up to 6 months or as long as your baby enjoys looking at them.

1. The Whale mobile (black and white) – Refines the visual skills babies have acquired with the previous mobiles in an ‘entry level’ in black and white.
2. The Swallows mobile (black and white with a bit of red) – It does everything that the Whales but with an added interest point babies have to focus on, the read ‘beak’. This makes babies focus for longer and with more visual precision.
3. The Butterfly mobile (colourful) – This mobile encompasses all the visual skills babies have learned in the first three months. This is the most complex visual challenge’.
