Crochet Sensory Balls for Babies – Montessori-Inspired Sensory Materials (3m+)

Sometimes the smallest things become a baby’s favourites. These ready-made crochet sensory balls are a gentle baby sensory toy for little hands from around three months, during supervised tummy time, and from about six months for independent play. Each ball is around 4 cm (1.5″), hand-crocheted from recycled yarn around a lightweight foam core — soft to hold, easy to grasp, and just the right size to roll, catch and pass from one hand to the other. Choose a single ball in the colour you love, or a whole set.

As babies become more confident reaching and grasping, they begin exploring not only how objects move, but also how they feel. Soft textures, gentle weight, and easy-to-hold shapes invite repeated exploration through touch, movement, and independent discovery.

Each Crochet Sensory Ball has the same familiar size and shape while offering a different colour and texture to explore. Together, they encourage grasping, rolling, transferring from one hand to the other, and open-ended sensory play that continues to grow with your baby’s developing abilities.
