Workshop in the park – to be confirmed
I’m so pleased to have you join me in this social event as we begin to start building a community centred around pregnancy and very tiny babies.
A few years ago, joining a similar group helped me to find all the information I needed in Valencia and I am still in touch with some of those incredible women who helped me then. Having people around you who speak your language (literally and metaphorically) is invaluable. These new mums are going through exactly the same experiences as you, or have gone through them recently. Together we will answer all your questions and talk about your worries, giving you all the support you need.
During the workshop, you will have a chance to build a Montessori mobile yourself for your baby. These educational, lovely baby mobiles were designed by Maria Montessori to aid and train very small babies’ development, offering age-appropriate visual challenges to them. This will give them a head-start from the very first day. Please read more about how Montessori mobiles help your baby’s development here.
On the day of the workshop, you will:
- Listen to a short introduction of the Montessori approach, aimed at the first months of your baby’s life
- Make and take home a free Montessori mobile with the guidance of a trained Montessori guide. Please choose one of the following mobiles (click on the link to read more about each one):
1. The MUNARI: for the smallest of babies who are only able to see strongly contrasting 2D objects
Suggested: 2-4 weeks
2. The OCTAHEDRON mobile introduces 3D objects and the primary colours.
Suggested: 4-6 weeks
3. The GOBBI mobile assists in distinguishing shades, therefore developing visual discrimination skills.
Suggested: 6-8 weeks
4. The DANCERS mobile encourages dynamic visual focus and depth perception.
Suggested: 8-10 weeks
5. The WHALES – refines the visual skills babies have acquired with the previous mobiles in an ‘entry level’ in black and white.
Suggested: 3 months+
6. The SWALLOWS – it does everything that the Whales but with an added interest point babies have to focus on, the read ‘beak’. This makes babies focus for longer and with more visual precision.
Suggested: 3 months+
7. The BUTTERFLIES– this mobile encompasses all the visual skills babies have learned in the first three months. This is the most complex visual challenge’.
Suggested: 3 months+
- learn how to use the mobile to its full potential
- be amongst other women in the same or very similar phase of life as you, who understand what you’re going through and will prepare you for the next steps
- have a chance to talk through all your worries and any questions you have
I hope you discover the beauty of having your tribe in Valencia with us. I believe that we can provide each other the knowledge and the support we all crave in this exciting but very demanding time.
All your questions are answered in the FAQ of the workshop but if you can’t find what you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to message me here: edit@montessoriedited.com
Looking forward to having you in our group.
